Paff Woods Nature Trail
Hawthorn Hills Elementary School
Learning materials and equipment to support the activities developed for studying and using the Paff Woods Nature Trail - an "outside" classroom located across the street from the school's front door.  The activities span across the curriculum for science, math, reading and writing.  The Paff family donated the 40 acre parcel of land to the Marthon County Park Department and was developed accordingly as a nature trail.

Lighted School House
Lincoln Elementary School
Volunteer-staff based program two nights a month that allowed students and families to utilize the school library, computer lab, gym, and other classrooms materials not available to them at home.  Parents had to be
present in order for children to attend the Lighted School House to encourage engaging in meaningful activities and spend quality time with their children.

Wetlands Curriculum
Hewitt-Texas Elementary School
The Hewitt-Texas Parent Network/Site Council in collaboration with the Kiwanis Club of Greater Wausau developed a Wetland Ecosystem on the school site.  Through mulitple resources, a pond, boardwalk, study piers, fencing and a shelter were created to provide a wetland study area where students can learn about living things found in the environment that the Native American referred to as the "between lands."
