Professional Recognition for going "above and beyond."

Twenty-one Wausau School District Staff honored with the Caught in the Act Award

In front of the WSD Board of Education the beginning of National Teacher Week, May 8, 2017, the Board of Directors of the WSF recognized 19 of 21 WSD Staff members. From custodian, library media specialist, teachers, special education paraprofessional, food service manager, secretary, or health office aide to name a few - words of gratitude and appreciation were shared with honorees for going "above and beyond."

Doris Martin, Wausau East HS math teacher was honored for her roll over the years in student and staff academic award achievements. But as part of her nomination she was also recognized for the role she plays every American Education Week with her students, she has each student write a note to a memorable teacher. Doris then makes sure each letter is delivered. She was caught in the act for many years of being a difference for students and award - or one letter at a time!
