INVEST IN FAMILIES AS FIRST SOURCE OF LEARNING
JOHN A. WALDRON STUDENT ASSISTANCE FUND
Life isn't always easy, but getting an education should be.
REQUEST Form (word) for use by WSD Staff only
This fund was established in December 2006, in memory of John A. Waldron,
WSD Director of Pupil Services and Special Education. The fund provides grants that touch students lives when they need help the most.
Requests for assistance come from Wausau School District teachers, social workers, nurses, and administrators and serves students of need in two ways:
o Addresses small, emergency needs for students and families
that bridges the gap between home and school. These needs, for
example, may be medical, dental, nutrition, transportation,
clothing, school supplies, etc. Necessities that interfere with learning.
o Assists with school-related opportunities to participate in educational activities
outside the classroom not otherwise possible.
