Heritage Families - three or more consecutive generations of families that have attended Wausau's public schools. We would be honored to have your Heritage Family among those families that are contributing to a fund in support of Education Grants that enhance students learning and allow teachers to "teach beyond the lesson plans." Waldron Student Assistance Fund This fund was created in January 2007 in memory of John A. Waldron, WSD Director of Pupil Services and Special Education, and honors John's legacy by addressing small emergency financial needs for students and families. The need could be health, medical, dental, nutrition, clothing, transportation, or school supplies. Needs are identified by WSD staff - teachers and aids, social workers, school nurses, principals - those closest to the students and their families. This assistance many well bridge the gap between home and school. In addition to assisting with emergency needs, the fund also provides small grants for education opportunities for students that otherwise would not be possible. Every classroom benefits when all children come to school ready and able to learn. The grants are confidential but please be assured the needs being addressed would make you proud of being part of the solution for those in need. The WSF welcomes donor members of the Wausau School Foundation to honor John's advocacy and support for children and families by making a tax-deductible gift to this fund.
